Kappa Yachting MPCY

These terms and conditions as may be amended from time to time, apply to all our services directly or indirectly made available online, through any mobile device, by email or by telephone. By accessing, browsing and using our website or any of our applications through whatever platform and/or by completing a reservation, you acknowledge and agree to have read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions set out below.

The planning of your cruise should be made by taking under consideration the weather conditions, your crew’s experience, etc. It is your responsibility to meet local rules and legal regulations, as well as observing passport, customs and license restrictions.

Below you can find the standard terms and conditions as they appear on the charter contract.


The Charterer declares to possess necessary navigation license, accepted by Greece ministry of the seas, to pilot a boat and authorization to operate radio station on the boat autonomously and assumes obligation to handle the boat carefully and in a manner of a conscientious seaman. He is also under obligation to keep a private logbook and in case of damage hand it over to Kappa Yachting MPCY. The Charterer may not participate in regattas without written consent and must observe the laws of local and port authorities. He must not transport undeclared, dutiable goods or any other prohibited objects. Charterer is not allowed to leave Greece territorial sea, unless having written approval – Permit – issued by Kappa Yachting MPCY and the Hellenic Coast Yard.

To fit out the Yacht and to hand her to the Charterer, without crew, clean, ready for sea, with all the gear and equipment indicated in the Yacht’s brochure and its inventory list and in proper running and seaworthy condition at the embarkation port.

Not to allow any person on board to commit any act contrary to the customs laws of Greece or of any country or contrary to the laws pertaining to fishing or under water fishing nor to seek and/or take possession of objects of archeological nature or value and that in case any such act is committed this Agreement shall thereupon terminate, but without prejudice to any rights of the Owner and that the Charterer shall carry alone any resulting responsibilities and he shall answer alone to the appropriate Authorities.

To take any possible preventive measure and precaution to avoid to bring the Yacht in any condition in which the Yacht will need to be towed to any point by another vessel, but should such a necessity arise, in spite of the Charter’s efforts, to negotiate and agree with the captain of the other vessel on the price to be paid, before allowing the yacht to be towed.

Not to leave a port or anchorage if the wind force is or is predicted to be over six (6) of the Beaufort Scale or if the harbor Authorities have imposed a prohibition of sailing or while the yacht has unrepaired damage or any of her vital parts such as engine, sails, rig, bilge pump, anchoring gear, navigation lights, compass, safety equipment, etc. are not in good working condition or without sufficient reserves of fuel or in general, when  weather conditions or the state of the yacht or its crew or a combination of them concerning the safety of the yacht and her crew is doubtful.

When necessary, to promptly reduce canvas and not to allow the yacht to be found sailing under an amount of canvas greater than the one insuring comfortable sailing without excessive strains and stresses on the rigging and the sails, not to sail the yacht in any area not sufficiently covered by the charts at his disposal or without having previously studied the charts of the area and other printed aids on board thoroughly, not to sail the yacht at night without all navigation  lights functioning or without sufficient watch  on deck.

To keep the yacht’s log book up to date, noting each day the port of call, the state of the yacht and its equipment, any change in the composition of the crew when at sea, regularly, the times positions, weather conditions, sail plan and hours of engine operation.

To report by telephone or cable to the Owner at reasonable intervals the position and state of the yacht and of her passengers, as well as in the event of any damage to the yacht.

To study and acquire a working knowledge of any printed matter pertaining the proper handling of the yacht and to the conditions in the cruising area which may be made available to him by the owner.

Before signing the aforesaid form, the Charterer shall have the right to inspect the yacht, her gear and her inventory thoroughly to ascertain that all are available in good working condition, except as may be noted thereon, but the signature of the take-over form by the Charterer shall be deemed to imply acceptance of the yacht which thereafter will be in the Charterer’s full responsibility and the Charterer shall have no right to claim in any loss of item or expense occasioned by any accident or breakdown or failure of any part of the yacht.

If any accident or damage is caused by the yacht, The Charterer shall request from the nearest port Authority to ascertain the damage or accident and the circumstances in which it has been caused and to make a written record and statement about it and he shall notify the owner at the same time.

The agents of the owner act in good faith on behalf of both owner and Charterer but contract as agents only and in no way incur any liability for any acts, matters or things done, committed, omitted or suffered by either party, except for the responsibilities provided by the pertinent legislation of Greece.

Not to accept more passengers onboard of the vessel than it is specified in the crew-list.

The Charterer shall guarantee his being jointly liable for all crew members.

Not to operate the vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Depending on weather conditions to avoid unnecessary strain on masts, sails and ropes.

The Charterer guarantees to Kappa Yachting MCPY his own nautical knowledge and competence in that area, both his own and the qualification of his crew, as well as his ability to operate the Vessel safely without regard of weather conditions or any other circumstances, taking over full responsibility for rational exploitation of the Vessel and her equipment.

If Charterer fails to inform Kappa Yachting MCPY, he will be held liable for all damage arising from non – reporting or late reporting of the incident.

The Charterer is obliged to check the oil level in the motor in daily basis.

The Charterer will be charged for all damages and losses resulting from lack of oil in the engine. All damages to the underwater section (including damage/loss of propeller) caused by the Charterer’s negligence will be repaired at Charterer’s expense.

The insurance policy does not cover damage to sails or the motor if the damage is caused by lack of oil. Insurance does not cover damage caused by intentional or negligent boat manoeuvring.


If the Charterer has any complaint during the boat chartering period, he should inform Kappa Yachting MCPY. Only objections and complaints presented in written form during the boat inspection will be taken into consideration.


Standard Charter Pack (payable at the base in cash) – 200,00€ /per week includes:

Final cleaning – Bed sheets & towels (one set per person) – First fill for outboard engine.


VAT 12% – VHF – Radio CD – TV/DVD – Coffee machine – GPS – Microwave oven – Autopilot -Echo sounder – Speedometer – Dinghy with Outboard motor – Warm water supply – Water maker – Spray hood – Bimini/tent – Blankets.

Not included

Skipper (payable at the base in cash) – 150,00€/per day

Diesel – Food – Tourist Tax – Port Charges – Insurance – Internet You are able to buy a voucher.

Optional equipment & Packs are not commissionable and subject to availability.

Payment Terms

50% after booking and the rest 5 weeks before commencement of the charter.


Embarkation: Starting day from 17:00.

Disembarkation: Ending day by 09:00.

Return to base the evening before disembarkation, at 18:00, the latest.

One way Fees

Corfu – Lefkas: 450,00€.


2 weeks charter: 5%

3 weeks charter: 10%

4 weeks charter 15%

Early booking till 31/01/2016: 10%

Repeat client 5%

Maximum discount: 15%


50% of the amount paid will be refunded if you cancel more than 1 month in advance of the charter date. No cancellations can be made within 30 days of the charter date. The entire amount paid will be retained in this case.
